Moscow Region ready to provide preferences to BMW

MOSCOW, Dec 28 (PRIME) -- The Moscow Region is ready to provide preferential conditions to Germany’s BMW if it locates its production in the region, Governor Andrei Vorobyov told reporters on Thursday.

“We will be happy if BMW comes to us. Their traditional base is Kaliningrad, so it will be difficult for us. But we are ready to provide special preferential conditions to BMW, which is studying conditions for its production,” he said.

Mercedes is to launch its car plant in the region in 2019, and will initially produce E-class sedan cars. The company plans to invest about 16 billion rubles in its production site in the Moscow Region.
